Luckily, ever since I first got a camera, I gave each photo a unique reference number - year/month[/roll]/image - so I am scanning and naming them with these pre-existing references. As I go, I am also writing up any information written on the photos, identifying people in the shot, and adding any background information I can remember.

Each index page has up to about 24 thumbnails of each roll with image filename, size and brief description. Each thumbnail links to a page with the full photo, titled with the picture name, image size (x-pixels, y-pixels, bits-per-pixel), image type and size and date the picture was taken. The people in the shot are named, and the location identified, if they are known.
